Blackwater Shot Our Dog

(reposted in honor of the troop reduction in Iraq.)

"The K-9 handler made several unsuccessful attempts to get the dog to retreat, including placing himself between the dogs. When those efforts failed, the K-9 handler unfortunately was forced to use a pistol to protect the company's K-9 and himself,"-from a New York Times Story

In Iraq, the mall cops are shooting people’s dogs.

And laser guns, and tattoos that read Death From Above.

Dogs in Iraq have strong feelings about the occupation.
Eight dogs out of ten have joined the insurgency.

In Iraq, the dogs have considered allowing themselves to be outfitted with rocket launchers.
An American secret weapon for dealing with these dogs is peanut butter.

Peanut butter works on dogs in Iraq just like it does everywhere else.
The reason Blackwater was forced to shoot that dog was they were out of Peanut-butter.

  1. 'Cause they were out of peanut butter. That's a sad place to be.

  2. speaking of dogs, I just got one for my kids. A seven month old collie/jack russel mix. I know you're into dogs, so I thought I'd mention it.

I didn't know what I was getting into. I've always been a more cat friendly person, so the energy level in the house is off the charts now. The kids love it, the cat and I will have to adapt.

I have to admit though; It's only day two, and I've probably doubled my daily exercise. Maybe having a dog will be good for me in the long run.

    Hopefully it doesn't get drafted.

  3. That's great!! I like that you got a mix too--good call on that Troxky. ..Sooo, seems like you're actually posting a lot more these days rather than slowing down. Anyway, good luck to you and to everyone in your enlarged family. Give that dog a squeeze for me!
