When We Were Boys

When we were boys
We peed on everything
Anywhere, anytime.

We peed on trees
In the woods
On tires flowers dogs
Fences;
Most pleasantly,
We peed in public pools.
Shamefacedly,
We peed in our beds
And in our good church
pants.

When we were boys
We peed on everything.
Anywhere, anytime.

  1. I still do that! Which seems to be the main criticism I receive from bloggers...

Merry Christmas Spencer! Too bad you're retiring from TJ.

  2. Willie: Civilized society doesn't realize what it's done to us. Those little trees in the parking lot, it's like they're taunting us: 'Oh no, boys. No peeing on this one!'

Lodo: As my most regular commenter, I have to apologize to you if you've read this one before. I've been reposting old pieces all month because I haven't been able to squeeze in time to write anything blog appropriate. Work is keeping me busy, but it's good work.

Mather: Thanks. Maybe you should take over for me at TJ.
