Everybody Involved In This Story Sucks

here.

Terry Jones is an idiotic coward with fascistic inclinations. Burning the Koran bespeaks a deep (rightful) insecurity in his own faith, a fearful and hateful attitude towards out-groups, and is an example of the worst kind of religious excess.

Lindsay Graham sucks for even suggesting that he will bring this issue up before congress. It's none of their business what private citizens burn. Hmm...

And finally, all of the idiots in Afghanistan who decided what some dumb idiot in Florida decided to throw on his grill was cause to riot, destroy property, and murder 20 people, suck the most; these guys prove that herding pigs isn't so hard after all.

Usually it's possible to see a glimmer of reason in the actions of most parties involved in a conflict. Not so with this reactionary bunch: everybody involved in this story clearly sucks.

  1. My only hope is that there are just a few of them.

  2. I'm currently feeling a little cynical, so I won't comment on that.

  3. I personally believe he and his troupe does these things to provoke someone into trying to ban what they do..like the court case against fred phelps. The minute someone tells them they can't do these things, no matter how disgusting they are, they'll just throw it back crying a violation of the their freedom of speech (which ironically is what they're against). Then they can run around claiming christian persecution and it just snow balls. I wish the press would just ignore them. Giving them fame is what they want.

Just my two cents but you summed it up pretty sucinctly.... all these people suck.

  4. You make a good point, Jennifer. Actually, the end goal for all these parties doesn't seem to be what they say it is. Terry Jones says he's making a statement, but--you're right--he's probably pulling a Fred Phelps. Lindsey Graham says he's trying to keep the peace, but he strikes me as the type of politician who likes to legislate for its own sake. And a group of folks who can be brought to murderous rioting over the burning of a book? Clearly there's some other stuff going on there. Anger. Frustration. Ignorance. Maybe some mental health stuff.

I would ignore Terry Jones, but want to make sure that there are more sane than crazy people weighing in on the issue. Riots that cost 20 lives and politicians that seek to limit civil liberties speak way louder than all of the blog posts and news stories that have touched on this issue.

    Thanks for stopping by!
