Yeah, Lou Reed's awesome. He's got one of those voices that just seems to carry all this experience inside of it.
There's a video of him singing 'Perfect Day' with Pavoratti on youtube. Pavoratti can sing circles around Lou Reed, in a technical sense. But when I was watching Pavoratti do the chorus, I just kept thinking, 'he's killing the vibe!'.
I'll take a voice with compelling character over one that can hit all the notes any time of the day.
